Uren Christmas Jumper Day

Uren recently held a Christmas Jumper Day in the office to raise money for Save the Children. Emily Birch, from our Sales department arranged this event which is part of a nationwide event day in which many different businesses and organisations wear Christmas jumpers to support Save the Children. This event is a really fun and festive way to raise money for a great cause, so Uren definitely wanted to take part.

Save the Children work all over the world, including in the UK, to make sure children are safe and healthy. They lead the way on tackling problems like pneumonia, hunger and protecting children in war and make sure every child’s unique needs are cared for. They work alongside children in more than 100 countries and their co-founder Eglantyne Jebb wrote the first international treaty on the rights of every child.

Together, with Save the Children members around the world, they have three big goals. By 2030 their ambition is that: no child dies from preventable causes before their fifth birthday, all children learn from a quality basic education, and violence against children is no longer tolerated. Every donation you make can help to change a child’s life by helping them to grow up healthy and safe and get an education.

To take part in Christmas Jumper Day Emily signed Uren up on the Save the Children Website and got a free fundraising Game Plan with posters, stickers and ideas for how to raise money. Then on Friday 13th December, everyone in the office had to come in in their best (or silliest) Christmas jumper and donate £2 to do so. Uren’s CSR group is also donating a small Christmas gift to each employee and are also selling baubles for a small amount, where all the profits will be donated to Save the Children.

“This cause is so special because it brings Uren employees together to enjoy the spirit of the season” said Emily. We encourage every member of staff to take part in the Christmas Jumper day and donate whatever they can towards Save the Children and hope to raise a lot of money for this brilliant cause.
