Uren supports local families

At Uren, we have strong ties to our local community, having been based in the area since establishment more than 125 years ago. For thousands of parents, free school meals provide a much-needed lifeline. Uren recently donated to Neston Primary School, Wirral, who are now able to provide additional support to families who are significantly impacted by the pandemic, including free school meal vouchers through the school holidays.

The children of Neston Primary School have created these pictures to show their thanks; we think they’re fantastic!

Thank you from Neston Primary School

Uren also recently donated essential items to the Leamington Night Shelter as well as making our annual donation to the Wirral Food Bank.

Stephen Gibbons, who leads Uren’s Corporate social responsibility programme, comments: “Under current COVID restrictions, instead of our usual trolley-dash, we donated the funds via the Wirral Food Bank’s Virgin Giving page. The team work incredibly hard to reach people who need it most, this year more than ever the pressure is on. We are humbled to be in a position where we can help our local community. We all know someone who has been affected financially as a result of the pandemic, and we hope this lightens their load for a short time.”
