For NPD teams, that's a rare gift: one global moment, three ready-made flavour stories, and a summer window when shoppers are primed to try something new. Our answer is World Cup Desserts, a limited-edition collection that celebrates the football and the culinary diversity of the host nations. It's built on familiar formats, bold flavours and clear country cues, the combination that drives trial, sampling and seasonal listings.
The tri-nation format is the whole opportunity. Rather than a single, generic "American" theme, the collection gives each host country its own identity. Canada brings warming, homely flavours led by maple, pecan and orchard fruits that feel comforting. Mexico brings bold, vibrant flavours that celebrate heat, colour and a rich dessert tradition. The USA offers familiar indulgence with a modern twist, from coffee-led bakes to cola-inspired cupcakes, the kind of flavours consumers never tire of. As our NPD team puts it: by blending these influences, we aim to create a limited-edition dessert collection that not only celebrates football, but also showcases the culinary diversity of the host nations.

Hot Chocolate Chilli Brownies (Chocolate Caliente)
Chocolate caliente reaches back to the Mayans and Aztecs, who drank chocolate as a bitter, frothy brew spiced with chilli, raising the froth with a wooden whisk called a molinillo. We've captured the idea in a brownie: cinnamon and chilli lift the chocolate, and a silky avocado chocolate mousse stands in for the foam, which also keeps the brownie a vegan offering. The heat is dialled for contrast, not a challenge.

Caramel Macchiato-style Cheesecake Bar
Coffeehouse flavours in a convenient, portionable format. Coffee and caramel are layered into an American-style baked cheesecake bar, finished with a light "foam" mousse. It feels instantly as a modern classic, low-risk familiarity with a premium, on-trend twist.
