IQF Vegetables Product List

Product List - IQF Herbs & Vegetables

Uren can provide individually quickly frozen (IQF) chives as part of our IQF vegetable range, packaged and delivered to your choice of location whether it be directly or into a cold store for service deliveries. Uren is a leading supplier of IQF foods in the UK which means we can source IQF chives in quantities to suit manufacturing and foodservice needs. We can supply:

· IQF chive rings

Chives are part of the allium family and are close relatives of leeks, shallots, onions, and spring onions.

IQF chives have the same delicious taste, texture, bright green colour, and aroma as fresh chives but with the convenience and longer shelf life of a frozen product.

Process:

Uren’s IQF chives are sourced from our expert BRC accredited suppliers in the Netherlands and Belgium and are of the highest quality.

Chives are sown from late March to early September and can take anywhere from 6 to 8 weeks to grow fully. They are harvested by cutting the leaves or scapes from the base of the plant so that the plant can regrow, allowing for continuous harvest during the growing season. Once the chive is harvested, it is brought back to the factory to be washed, quality checked, and cut to size. The chive rings are then individually frozen at incredibly low temperatures to prevent the formation of ice crystals, lock in freshness, and ensure a free-flowing product.
