Mangetout, otherwise known as snow pea is it an edible flat pod with thin pod wall which is eaten whole, hence the name mangetout, which in French means ‘eat it all’. Mangetout is a type of garden pea picked very young and while unripe, which makes it quite sweet in taste. It is picked so young that the pod is still flat and the peas are barely developed. Crisp and sweet, they can be served both raw, steamed, boiled, or stir-fried. They are particularly popular in Asian cuisine and are often used in stir-fries, and salads and their sweet taste pairs well with seafood and fish.

IQF mangetout has all the same great flavour, texture, colour, and nutritional benefits of mangetout but with the convenience and longer shelf life of a frozen product.

Process:

Sourced from our expert accredited growers in China, our mangetout is premium quality and grown to industry standards. The mangetout is harvested once they reach around 8cm long, whilst still unripe. Once harvested they are taken to the factory to be washed, quality checked and are then rapidly frozen at extremely low temperatures to lock in freshness, flavour and ensure a free-flowing product.

Shelf life: 24 months from production

Packaged in 10kg cartons.
