Uren supports PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide

In a cause close to the heart of Commercial Manager Carla Kirby, Uren recently supported a fundraising campaign to remember the life of Matthew Wheeldon.

Friends and family of Matthew have raised almost £20,000 by organising a 200 mile Coast to Coast walk, which they completed in just 12 days.

The money raised from 'March for Matt' will be donated to PAPYRUS, a charity supporting young people at risk of suicide to stay safe and find hope in times of need. With publicity from Chesterfield Football Club and the Derbyshire Times, the campaign has raised almost £20,000 so far, with fundraising ongoing.

Matthew's brother Daniel said: "There are so many thousands more struggling with their mental health, contemplating suicide or harming themselves; suffering alone, afraid to speak openly about how they are feeling. We'd like to think many of these could, and should, be prevented."

PAPYRUS is the national charity for the prevention of young suicide, providing support through its telephone and text helpline to thousands of children and young people throughout the country.

The charity runs HOPELINEUK 0800 068 4141; a freephone confidential helpline staffed by trained professionals providing advice, support and information to anyone who is feeling suicidal, or concerned that a young person they know may be at risk.
